Jon's Formula should be hitting the track soon, it will be interesting to see what it does with the added weight removed from it. It is featured in our project car section of our website, in case anyone wants to check it out. Bob

That's impressive, what kind of mods do you have?

How about a LT1 swap into a early chevy II or other really light car? A light test car would seem to require addressing both handling and getting the car to "hook up". That's where I'm at now putting a rear suspension together and addressing tuning issues with an OBDII box.

Look forward to following whatever project you decide on.

I'm finally getting ready to blow the dust off my Formula, and put in a little 355 LT1 we've been doing some tech with. The stock motor is pretty much toast.

Running a stock LT1 with ATI Procharger's P1SC, a Carl Rossler turbo 400, Neil Chance 4000 stall converter, and Moser 12 bolt with 4.30 gear.  Just had it out again and she went 10.91 @ 120.9mph.  You can check it out @ epp's site in the project car section.

Scott, glad to see you're working on it.  Keep us posted!!  What kind of mods to the 355?

You want a challenge? Do this on a 94-96 Impala SS instead of an F-body. Keep it driveable with  mileage in the teens or better and see how fast you can get it to go without breaking every other run.

Saw the latest magazine article with the 450hp outcome from Dart heads and a custom ground cam!   Nice!   Can that setup be programmed to pass emissions?   (Texas)?

How about a build with a couple of turbos and a self made piping system, and put your own kit together for cheap.Try and build a bottom end built 355 and throw the cheap turbo or twin turbo system on it...This has been done by a man (crappy mustang) with John Deere tractor turbos good for 30 lbs boost, but tuned down to 9psi and it made 500whp on stock 5.0L

hey scott, i recently sent you a pic. and video of my lt1 powered 72 chevelle. its been 10.80 @ 125 with only mildly ported stock heads, 1.6 rockers, headers, mezeire *** and some n2o. with a best of 18.5 mpg with the original 3.08 gears and a th350 and 10" convertor.                                           i was impressed by the recent article in the new gm hitech, on the lt1 build. 459hp from a mild lt1! should go 11s n/a. deep 10s with some spray!

Love your idea to take a blown lt1 turn into 11sec. car,so others can follow the steps,i recently bought 93z28 drovr home $500 runs good wanna make it vicious like to use stock rotating assy (new forged pistons) bout 150-250 shot good cam,if necessary bigger heads, definately like to know how to tune it.Wanna keep it on pump gas like to see 11s na 10s with squeeze.hope i dont need rearend&tranny, will they get me into 10s u think?

I just joined so I could more closely follow this build up. So, what's the latest, Scott?  I've been following the build and I ordered the same Dart heads - they arrived this morning.  I'm going a XFI too, but I'm a little concerned about the 224/230 duration as a cause a too rough idle.  I'd like some feed back on how the idle is.

I plan to use Comp's CRC lobes, but duration and LSA is still up in the are.  I'm seriously considering 111, since you guys seem to think 113s is too wide.

BTW, why can't I find the first three parts of the build?

Thanks,  Jake
