So when fully built which one do you believe will have more power, reliability, and etc?
Any opinions?

i must say the LSx would be better, hands down. in most catigories the LSx would be better.and i have a Gen 1
i think most of it comes from the far better head disign. the gen 1 can get you the same reliablitly, but thats about it. i mean for goodness sake and LSx with a good cam and head combo will get you about 400+ rwhp(thats not even saying anything about ci). most normal 350gen 1s will get you about 300-350rwhp.

Fully built they will probably be pretty close. The question is, how much money will it take for you to get there and how many headaches will you have to overcome. The modern things on an LSx(ie FI, ODBII) make tuning it a lot easier than a gen1 SBC

I agree. A Gen III or IV would definitely generate more power for less money and less headaches. With an unlimited budget and time to waste it should be possible to equal that performance with a Gen I...at least until the LSX and other aftermarket blocks become available.
