What I have is a 1997 camaro with a 3.4 v-6 engine, I recently bought a 85 monte carlo that had a older style 383 in. Just recently built, I decided the camaro would be a nice place for this motor. How big of headache am I buying for myself. I use to do autobody work for a living and I have done many engine swaps in older cars. But on this job I don't have a clue on what its going to take to make this work. I am looking at doing this without spending a boatload of money. I would prefer to go with a carb and stock HEI dist. Will the trans bolt up and what other kind of problems will I encounter. You can contact in this forum or e-mail me at tgierke@juno.com Thanks DAN

the tranny will bolt up. Gm is good about that. the only problem i notice is im not sure how you will fit a stock hei distributor under the dashboard/windshield. the motor sets pretty far back in the there without alot of clearance.
