hey there. im new to the site. hopefully someone can answer this for me. i have a 97 formula. i noticed it was misfiring so i checked it out and found that i have big orange spark arching from the distributor cap to the harmonic balancer. i put on a new accel distributor last april. why is it arching and has anyone heard of this happening? maybe its cracked or maybe moisture is the cause. those are the only two things i can think of. it just started this two days ago. i have not pulled it to check it yet. somebody please help shed some light on this for me. thanks. timmer

yea sounds like your opti spark,unfortunatly its one of those things you need to get used to.Fortunatly accel and MSD makes them now.Really nice and less prone to screwing up.The MSD one comes with a built in screw that you can now adjust the timming on it goes for about $500.The accel one goes for bout $300 but has no timming screw.Hope this helps.
