I LIKED THE ARTICLE OF THE TRANS SWAP FROM AUTOMATIC TO MANUAL, EVEN THOUGH YOU GUYS CHEATED BY USING A CAR THAT WAS ORIGINALLY A MANUAL CAR HAVING ALL OF THE PIGTAILS AND PCM CONNECTIONS, I HAVE DONE THE SWAP ON AN ORIGINAL AUTOMATIC CAR AND IF YOU DON'T REMOVE THE SPRING FROM THE REVERSE LOCKOUT SOLENOID YOU WILL HAVE TO USE 2 HANDS TO GET IT IN REVERSE, ALSO IF YOU WANT YOUR CRUISE CONTROL TO WORK YOU MUST ADD A SWITCH TO THE ORANGE W/BLACK STRIPE AND BLACK WIRE OR THE PCM THINKS THE CAR IS IN PARK, I ADDED A SMALL SWITCH JUST BEHIND THE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH OTHER THAN THAT YOUR SWAP IS ACCURATE.

Agreed, When i did my swap i didnt hook up the switch. I just muscle mine in, it doesnt take two hands. But i do plan on eventually hooking up a switch for the reverse solenoid. all it needs is a 12v source and a ground.

I just swapped a 700r4 out of my iroc camaro and put in a t56. It is very hard to get into reverse. I did hook up the reverse lockout solenoid to a power source and it is still extremely hard to put into reverse. If I take the spring out of the solinoid will that make it easier? Also when it does go into reverse the shifter is barely moving. It does not feel like it is going in all the way, is this normal? Any help out there? Thanks.

I Just read the article by Tony Whately about rebuilding a t56 tranny. It was about Joe and Amber Honeycutt and their t56 rebuilding company. The artical listed a website address of t56rebuilds.com but when I go there, there is no contact info. Anyone know how to get a hold of Joe and Amber at t56rebuilds.com. Hey Tony If you read this how come you didn't include a contact number on the great article you wrote. Thanks, Steve

Do you know what month/year issue that came out of. I might be able to get that number for you.
