Good morning

I am up late cam selecting a cam for my 427 elcamino and narrowing my choice to the new thumper cam . I know it makes more noise, puts the power curve and overlap narrower thus sacraficng some top end. But will I really take the thing over 5500 and can I get it off the rr tracks with those square port heads and that lopey idle. 227 241 @ 50 with a 547 \530lift at 107 degrees.

Other wise would I want the broader band and wider lobe separated XR288 that goes up to 5800 with a 236 242 duration and around a 540 lift at 110 degrees?

I dont think I will race the car at the track that much but it would be a shame to not put the cam of the highest potential inside the motor, I just want it all to be radical , bitchen and very fast.
