I just picked up F-body number 5, an 87 Trans Am, a few weeks ago from a woman that supposedly had a 383 stroker put in from a truck.  Anyway, the wiring is a complete mess, connectors in the engine bay are melted, several things in the car dont work, etc.  So I have decided to take out the engine and transmission, run the numbers on the engine to verify exactly what it is.  Get a complete wiring harness and would like to match that engine to a 6-speed from an LT1 car.  I've been told it should match up with little to no problems.  What are your thoughts?

I think i can help...

yes and LT-1 6 speed will work...

Also, the #'s on the motor won't tell you if it's been stroked to 383 inches.
