LS2 Corvette Engine-Who Builds It?

I am a proud owner of a 2007 Corvette convertible with the LS2 6.0L 400 HP engine. I just heard a rumor about my engine from someone. They say that this LS2 engine is manufactured in Europe by Merkur (i.e. - Ford/Mercury). Can this be true - a Ford engine in my Chevy???? Say it isn't so!!!

That's total BS!
I believe the LS2s are made in Warren, Mi.
What someone may be thinking about is the manual trans in the Corvette. Those are made by ZF, which is a European company.
But the motor is all American!
