I just purchased a 1993 chevy Z71 with the 350 and 4l60E tranny. The previous owner installed the edelbrock 3500 proflo EFI system on it. The problem is the tranny doesnt shift right because the harness for the original computer was disconnected from the engine. Edelbrock said i needed to hook up the TPS sensor to both computers to make this work. Does anyone have any ideas on how i can make this system work or should i just go back to stock? Thanks

Before thinking it's a computer problem, check the kickdown cable on the trhottle plates and make sure it's adjusted properly. If that cable adjustment is out of whack, the trans won't shift right. I've got a '92 Silverado, ran into this problem after I had the manifold off for a cam swap.

and in addition I dont think that 93 had a 4l60e.if you do see a downshift cable then it is not a 4l60e and that cable will control your shifts as well as a mechanical/hydraulic governor near the tailshaft.

if the transmission turns out to be a 4l60e there are standalone modules available this module would run all the transmission functions regarsdless of what engine is in front of it
