Frist of all I didn't get a subscrpition to this magazine to read about 4 or even 6 bangers. If I was interested in that I would of picked up a tuner magazine. As I thought this magazine was about high performance v8's Secondly I have not seen any articles about third gen TPI'S or TBI'S. in months!!! And a third gen shell hidding a LT1,LT4,LS1's etc. DON'T COUNT!!! as its a half breed since it no longer sports a L98 block. And doing write ups on TPI/TBI accessaries don't count either unless there is going to be a install article with the item and even a results info. Don't get me wrong I like to read about the other cars; Z06,2009 Camaro, CTS-V /engines; Lt1,LS6,LSX etc. (As I can only dream of owning!) I have already decided not renew my subscription when it ends next year unless some changes are made to appease not only my interests in the hobby but others I'm sure as well. I use to look forward to each month for the magazine hoping to read something about about 3rd gen L98's. Now I just check to see if there is anything at all L98 3rd gen. related, which there has not been in quite some time. Which at that point I may glance at a couple of articles, and then it gets tossed in a pile that my wife has permission to discard when it reaches a certain height!

Hey ! New to the forums here, but a looooongtime reader and GM guy. I thought I'd respond to the questions/poll in the November issue about gas mileage. I'll drive my go-faster cars no matter the price of gas. I have no commute, but my GTO gets pretty good mileage...If there are to be mileage articles, how about a 4th gen LSX car with a 6 speed and a (gulp) 4.8 ? It could be an ongoing build with a Magnacharger added later ??? Lastly, show us some dirt cheap junkyard type builds with parts cars cut in half across the driveway, homemade stuff. Cannibalize 6.0/4L80 vans and other donors...half the GTO's on ebay are very mild wrecks where somebody's trying to get $10K despite the damage, missing wiring,seats,drivetrain-Also get somebody at GM to explain why the LSX block isn;t good for 511CI after all...Love the Magazine folks ! Peace !

Just wanted to let you guys know that your opinions have been heard, and that we appreciate the input. For the guys looking for more LTx tech, definitely stay tuned for the series of dyno tests with a stock rebuilt LT1 starting this month, not to mention the return of my Formula.

As for what I think should go into the magazine - everything that falls under the category of "GM High Tech". That of course includes LT motors, LS motors, and all the variants of those. However, I don't mind an occasional story about a Cobalt SS or Sky Redline that can smoke V8s on a road course. I don't think they should be the meat-and-potatoes of the mag, but it's interesting to read how you can make a FWD or 4-cyl out-perform most V8s.
Now, when we talk about what I read the magazine for, I read it for LS-series cars and racing. I like to see guys who have built up their own cars. I like to see guys doing something that no one else has tried. I like to see cutting edge developments and new parts.
And, of course, I like to see articles about F-bodies doing road racing. I really think that the magazine should do a series on the Camaro-Mustang Challenge or American Iron series of NASA racing. These are guys going out in F-bodies and banging doors with Mustangs every weekend just for bragging rights. THAT'S a news story!!
Lastly, I like to see articles about my own cars (who doesn't?). I drive a G8GT daily. And, I built my 2000 Trans Am from a stock car into a road racer that runs with purpose-built racecars like the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, Viper Comp Coupe, Corvette C5R, etc. And, it'll leave pretty much any street-legal car in the dust - C6 Z06, Ferarri F430, Lambo Murc, etc. Still waiting for a ZR1 to show up at the track, though...

I think a Ford to GM Shoot out would be a great tech article 00 Trans Ram.

Not that we wouldn't revisit it, but definitely check out our Sept '07 issue; it has two features on NASA American Iron competitors including an LT1 Camaro that runs in the Camaro Mustang Challenge and Sam Strano's SCCA championship-winning autocrosser. That issue also has plenty of suspension and road racing tech. There is even some overflow into the Nov '07 issue as well.

Being that I have a GM tuner car, the red-headed step child of the bunch a Saturn Ion Redline, I'd love to see "some" coverage of the GM tuner cars. I know this magazine is primarily geared towards the V8 crowd, but it would be nice to see a small article or even photo's of the smaller GM cars (Ion Redline, Sky Redline, Cobalt SS/SC or SS/TC, etc.). As you can imagine we don't exactly get a lot of coverage in other publications, such as sport compact car or turbo magazine's, mostly because those are primarily geared towards import tuner cars. Now, we may not be able to hang with most of you high HP V8's, but we can certainly surprise quite a few.
I'm sure that in one aspect we are all alike. As most of you probably have, I put a lot of time, money, hard work and sweat into my car to make it mine. It may not be a Camaro, Trans Am or a Corvette, but it definitely gets it's share of attention when they hear the blower whine.

I like to read about the latest from GM and I'm looking forward to the new Camaro SS. But please don't leave out Corvettes of all generations. I'd like to read articles about using modern FI components and electronics on older cars w/gen 1 small blocks or big blocks. There are a great many out in the world w/the older engines in earlier cars. Not everyone wants to do restorations on older cars. I appreciate the work that goes into a NCRS restoration but with my cars I want to rod them. As a kid I couldn't afford to do what I wanted with my cars. But now I can and will. I always used the best and most modern parts available in years past and I intend to do so today. So put me down for modern tech in older muscle. Show me an engine swap where a LS or LT V8 goes into an older Corvette, Camaro, Firebird,Nova etc. I enjoy your magazine, thats why I subscribe but since you asked the above would add even more interest in your magazine, give me project ideas, and in general tick off my wife.

Love the mag! I would like to see more on the Trailblazer SS's. I haven't seen any in here. This is what the old T/A and Camero guys go to when we have kids. Makes the wifey happy with 4 doors and me happy with 400hp!!!

You really don't see any coverage on the Cobalt in import mags, its sad how you see more Ford Focus than Chevy. Its just wrong

I would like to see a simple "Coming up next issue..." on the back page to wet my whistle. Haven't seen that in a while, and it's always nice to see what's coming in the mail soon.
Also, it's an event not very publicized outside the loops, but the Southern Super Heavy Shootout drag race held the past few years (this will be the 8th year of the event) just north of Atlanta, GA during November. Must weigh at least 4000lbs. Started between Impala SS' and Merc Marauders, but now with the Mopar LX cars in the mix, it is quite a sight to see! (hint: sub-10 second cars at 4000lbs are not uncommon there)

I don't know how much an extra page would cost but its a good idea. They let you know whats going up on the web which is great but it would be nice to know what is coming up.
Who knows maybe we can get it up on the web to let everyone know what is coming soon.

I own a bolt-on 99 Z28, so I love all of the LS1 infomation. But what if you were to do a short build up on a 97-04 Regal GS? Now that I have a family and could use a bigger more reliable DD/winter car, I've been really looking into a Regal GS. People are putting down some good numbers with no more than a few exhaust mods, a pulley swap, and a tune on these cars. Plus it would also cover the Grand Prix GTP guys as they have the same supercharged 3.8, not to mention the GS can be a bad ass sleeper. Just throwing that out there as something different you could feature in the magazine.
