I just finished reading Freakishly Fast and had a few questions.  How does a car with a cam in 280 duration at .50 with a lift approaching .800 manage to get by with a 5/16 pushrod and Comp 921 spring that is only good to .650 lift?  Not to mention control the weight of a 2.08 valve to a min of 7600 rpm?  I'm also curious as to the power the car makes in order to run a 139.96mph in a 3110lb car.  Great looking car but A+B is just not adding up for me.

This was posted by Maddman, great editorial work guys.

The cam specs were made up by the writer. We wouldnt give him specs so he made his own up. The car does have a hydraulic cam spec'ed by Geoff at Thunder.

The whole key is a dependable engine that makes good power and a killer suspension. That car will hook on an iceskating rink. Also Gerald (Colemans crewchief) is the master on making a car have a killer combination. They would make passes and make very small changes and DOCUMENT every change. I know they sent the convertor back numerous times to get it just right. They also played with shock adjustments and tires and torque arm settings. They found out that 50 rpm on the 2 step is worth alot. All this is how you are supposed to test so you can have such a quick car.

Oh and Camn Hawk has been in the 8's N/A for two years now.  Who do you get to write this stuff?
