I have a 95 Z28 with a LT1 383 and nitrous and want to upgrade the axle. I had a 8.8 rear axle out of a mid 90 model Crown Vic. Police car give to me and read the artical in pontiac featured cars (get er done) where a 8.8 center section was grafted to the tubes and axles of the 7.5 and a torque arm bracket was fabbed and the car was running high 9's. Has anyone had any experience with this conversion?

The car made it to a spinning  11.3'@ 122 mph with the 7.5. That's when someone told me the driver side tire stopped spinning half way through the burn out. So I'm starting the 8.8 conversion. I will post the results.
