The GMHTP articles on the L92 VVT cam kits raise two interesting questions:  1) How would the big Comp Cam VVT cam's performance compare with say the GMPP LS376/515 motor if both had the same intakes (e.g., FAST LSXR), etc.  The rpm range in the VVT article starts at 3500, so can't tell how the low end or areas under the curve would compare.  The GMPP dyno charts start at 2000 rpm.  2) What would it take to convert an LS3 to the L92-type VVT set up?  Just the cam, phaser kit, VVT timing cover and ECU mods? or more?

Excellent questions. In theory the advantage of VVT is that it provides proper cam timing for every rpm, which should make it superior in terms of average power. I wouldn't expect much, if any, advantage in peak power. We plan to explore this topic more...as someone interested in purchasing a 6-speed manual '10 Camaro, I would be very interested to know how to convert my LS3.
