I work in the Parts Department at Sunrise Chevrolet in Collierville TN.  One of our salesmen has given me a project:  Get information for how to get an LS9 engine and compatible transmission for this.

I found the part number for the LS9 (19201990), but I am having trouble finding the appropriate transmission that would work with it.  The sales manager here tells me that the customer wants the same transmission as the Corvette with the LS9 - a six-speed - and if anyone could at least give me some direction to go (maybe a custom shop to call or something) I would appreciate it.  As you can tell I'm new at this kind of thing.

Also I was made aware that the LS9 doesn't have a flex plate or flywheel, and it has a different bolt pattern.  Have any of you guys seen anything like this before or know someone who has?

Call Tremec (or one of its dealers) for a 6060, unless your LS9 and trans are going into another Vette you'll need the non-transaxle style casing such as on the Camaro SS or G8 GXP. As far as clutches and flywheels go, Tremec may be able to help you decide, which is best for your customer. I know SPEC makes a new Super Twin for this application. And yes the bolt pattern and thickness of the LS9 flywheel are completely different than a normal LS1/LS2.
