LS1 OVER HEATING

I have a 2002 TA. No oil in water and nowater in the oil. Its loosing water and overheating. Is there any other way to loose water besides a headgasket.

you need to put water in it close all caps and park it somewhere dry on the ground. Rev to about 2000rpms for about 20sec then pop the hood and look at your water pump(big pulley and gray assembly) right under your intake. See if you can see any dripping going on there. Look under the front of the car too.
I had a problem similar to this(no overheating though), but it was all caused by my radiator cap which was holding too much pressure before popping to let hot coolant go to the overflow reservoir.
If its a hose, just replace the hose. Also, try to take the radiator cap to a dealer and get them to pressure test it. Get them to pressure test your coolant system too.
You may get lucky like me and only have to replace waterpump gaskets instead of those and the waterpump.
Does not sound like you have a major problem. If you've got pretty good miles on it near 100,000 may it is time for a coolant flush anyway. Good luck!

Go buy a new Radiator. they will only last about 5 years before they crack
|
