Hey first time I am on here I am a bit of a novice with this just really getting into LT1's. I have a 95 LT1 with a high performance Cam, Jet hot headers, SLP Loud Mouth exhaust not cats, K&N Cold Intake and low temperature thermostat. I am looking to keep going but not sure what next step I should take. Does anyone have any good Ideas I was thinking about a 58mm throttle body( is adding the air foil worth it?), underdrive pully's and 3.73 gears. Does anyone have any other suggestions. Are all the bolt ons worth it or is it better to head in a different direction. I am also looking for someone to tune this car and work on the programming but I live in the NY Metro area and knowone works on LT1 motors?

i have 1994 Z28 with 383 LT4 but when the engine was stock i made this changes and works very well: 1.6 rocker arm ratio, underdrive pulley,1-3/4" long tube super competition headers,3.73 gear, true duals exhaust. My suggestion is begin with the most important like 1-3/4" long tube headers, true duals exhust and 1.6 rocker arm ratio, you are going to feel the ghange

Check this website. Mind you this is for a LT1 Corvette. But you can get the kit for Camaros and Trans Ams.

This on a Vette will give you 305 HP and 292 TQ at the wheels. This shows you what each thing gives you on the dyno. No BS. If you can find the last few months of GM HighTech magazine, they've done several LT1 builds using Edelbrock and Dart parts. Good reading and good luck.

Well, you are definitely heading in the right direction. An airfoil is worth some hp, but not as much as a 52mm throttle body. My suggestion would be to replace the harmonic balancer with a quality aftermarket piece with 10% underdrive, pop in an air foil, install 3.73 gear (and a new posi), and get a custom tune. I've had good luck with both Race Krafters (Lancaster, PA) and Fast Chip (mail order) for tunes, but I believe Tune Time in Toms River, NJ also does tuning for LT1s. After that, save up your money for a stock rebuild or 383. Nitrous, heads/cam, boost, etc is all destined to cause a bearing or piston failure. Race Krafters and Tune Time are a little bit of a drive from NY, but well worth it. TT Performance in Clifton, NJ is pretty close, they just don't have LT1 tuning software. You could also try Vette Doctors on Long Island.
