I have 112,00 miles on my truck, replaced pitman arm, idler arm and rod ends, and front bearing assemblies and still have a little free play in steering wheel. Can that freeplay be adjusted out at the screw and jam nut on top of the steering gear box?

yes

also check the intermediate steering shaft, once you wear through the grease supplied from the factory it will cause a small bit of play, remove it, grease it, and reinstall it
