I have an 05 crew cab Z71 Sierra. I have already installed a Volant cold air intake with the optional ram tube and a Bully Dog Triple Dog programmer.I know this truck will never be "fast" but I would like it to be suprising. Does anyone know how I can open the exhaust with little or no sound increase? I want this truck to sound and look stock. Would a Diablo programmer give me more power than  the Bully Dog? Thanks for any help

We've never tested Bully Dog programmers, but have consistently found Diablo Sport to be among the top hand held tuners. Superchips Custom Tuning (SCT) has also performed well in the past for us. My advise would be to either buy a set of Stainless Works long-tube headers or save up your money for a supercharger or custom turbo kit. Depending on your level of monetary commitment, either will provide a significant performance advantage and great bang-for-the-buck while being fairly low key.

You need a 4.0-inch or larger bore for 6.2L L92/LS3 heads, 5.3L's have 3.89-inch bores. Patriot makes a nice CNC-ported 5.3L head that flows over 300cfm perfect for high compression builds, for a low compression boost motor the CNC-ported 6.0L is the way to go.
