I HAVE A SPECIAL ORDER 95 Z28 CONVERTIBLE WITH LT1 AND 6 SPEED THAT I HAVE OWNED SINCE DELIVERY. I HAD HER IN STORAGE AND A MOUSE MADE A NEST IN HER MUFFLER, AND WHEN I TOOK HER OUT FOR A RUN THE NEST BLOCKED THE EXHAUST AND IT FRIED THE HEAD GASKET, SO: I WAS WONDERING IF A LS6 WOULD FIT ON MY SIX SPEED, AND IF I WOULD HAVE TO CHANGE THE COMPUTER FOR THE LS6, AND IF THERE IS ANY THING ELSE I WOULD HAVE TO DO TO MAKE THIS WORK. (P.S SOMEBODY TOLD ME I MIGHT RUN INTO CROSSMEMBER PROBLEMS BECAUSE THE LS6 IS LOWER PROFILE, IS THAT TRUE, AND IS THERE A WAY AROUND THAT,) THANKS AGAIN.

it should fit but you will probably need to customize some motor mounts or do somethign with the Kmember. Youw ill definetly need to get a computer from an ls6 car and might be easier to get a whole wiring harness. my guess is the benfit of the extra money and time would not be worth the ls6 swap. I would put the money into building a forged stroker motor out of the original lt1. you will see the same power with a lot less headaches.

THANKS ITSSLOW, YOUR RIGHT ABOUT THE K-MEMBER, WHAT I FOUND OUT SO FAR IS, FOR THIS LS6 SWAP I'LL NEED A LS6 K-MEMBER, A T-56 6 SPEED THAT WAS ORIGINALLY HOOKED UP TO A LS1,(98 AND UP Z28), LS6 COMPUTER,AND MIGHT HAVE TO CHANGE MY FUEL SYSTEM TO NON-RETURNABLE TYPE,(ANY SUGESTIONS OUT THERE?) I FOUND A LIGHT-WEIGHT TUBULAR K-MEMBER THAT LEAVES PLENTY OF ROOM AND COMES WITH THE LS6 ENGINE MOUNTS, AND YES I'M STILL TORN DIFFERENT WAYS ON WHAT TO DO, I TYPED "LT1 PERFORMANCE" IN A SEARCH ENGINE, AND THE FIRST LISTING IS FOR A ARTICLE IN A MAGAZINE ABOUT THESE THREE TEXAS COMPANIES THAT PUT TOGETHER A  500+ H.P LT1,  BY USING A STOCK LT1 SHORT BLOCK,THEN HAVING THIS HEAD TECHNOLOGIES COMPANY, COMPUTER FINE TUNE THOSE BEATIFUL LT4 HEADS, AND LT4 INTAKE, REWORKED THE VALVETRAIN, PUT A HIGH PERF CAM, AND PUT A 58 ASM THROTTLE BODY ON HER, SO AFTER SEEING THAT, YES IM STILL CONSIDERING LT1 UPGRADES, ESPECIALLY SINCE MY LT1 WAS SUCH A SCREAMN BEAUTY!

Both motors are extremely capable of making 500rwhp, so the choice really depends on your future goals and preference.

I would recommend giving Hawks Third-Generation a call (you can look them up online or in any issue of GMHTP) and see what they charge for the conversion pieces you need. Also, if you have some time, we will be putting together "LSX swap primer" in a future issue, which will cover most everything you will need.

Thanks,

Justin
