I have a 98 z28 with long tube headers, off road y pipe and borla exhaust. The check engine light is on and the scanner says it has a bad O2 sensor. The o2 sensors are new, so how do i get this light out? Will a flash tuner fix this problem?

which set of sensors.???? the primary or secondary ... which code??????
the first set of oxygen sensors set fuel ratio....
the second set after the cat are monitors... to make small corrections to the fuel trim... to keep clean air coming out the tail pipe. it also monitors the long term emissions... if the secondary monitors do not see what they expect to see.. they will turn on the check engine light...
i hope you still have the cats... they are expensive to replace...
post the code.... there are a lot of different codes... without a code.. its really hard to help...

J,
Without knowing the code it is hard to tell but the most likely culprit is the lack of a quality catalytic converter. An LS1 uses the front 02 sensors to monitor the air/fuel ratio and make changes during closed loop operation (fuel trims). The rear 02 sensors only check catalytic converter efficiency. Since you have no cats, they are likely throwing a code saying "hey, something is wrong with these cats, they aren't doing anything!"
The fix, assuming this is the problem, would be to install a quality set of catalytic converters, or have a tuner eliminate the rear 02 sensors in the VCM.
