Been a subscriber for many years now and this is my first e-mail, hope I doing this in the right forum. I have a similar build. I had SDPC build me a 350w/GM Alum FastBurn Heads & HotCam, Fluid Dampener,TPIS Big Tubes and 58mm TB, MSD, custom 3" exhaust, 700R4w/rev manual body, 3:73 12 bolt Moser rearend, alum driveshaft & Hotchkis TVR suspension. The car makes 345RWHP & 405lb/ft up here at Denver altitude.I have been tuning with a piggy back sys from Perfect Power. Not totally happy with it mainly due to garage who installed it. Payed a lot of money to put the "smog tuneup" on it and it still didn't pass. I found other things ythat needed attention to. I have always get a little more out of it after being tuned by dyno shop. I will have to do some maching to dampener from an e-mail I got from EFI connections. I would like your opinion on this conversion. As you heard it has to pass smog. Would also the tune in the stock PCM would get the car running or would I have to get some software to modify from my laptop? Also can a Fast or BigSuff3 replace the LS1 PCM?

I assume your car has cats? If it does then your cam could easily be what is causing you to fail emissions. If it is the tune, then you have a really bad tune...the EFI Connection LS1 PCM swap could easily fix that. I think most aftermarket EFI systems would be overkill on a streetcar like yours, and the 24x kit is the perfect solution (especially when emissions is a concern). It's pretty safe to say you would need a custom tune via HP Tuners or EFI Live software on a laptop. FAST XFI, BS3, Accel DFI, or Holley's new EFI would all work as well. But there are definite advantages to using an OEM PCM, and there is the added benefit of distributorless (direct) ignition.
