I just buy a used 1999 Chevrolet express cutaway for my work on a auto auction with the intention to save a little bit of money, but i just find out the engine is crack, I want to buy a used engine and diesel will be a plus if possible, if any one can please direct me with a list of vehicles with the same engine size or interchange to fit with out big modifications, I really appreciate your time, thank you.

those actually came with a diesel...     there is a lot of stuff to change... if you want to swap.. you would need a complete.. diesel powered van to get all the parts off of...

Select the engine of your 1999 Chevrolet Express 3/4 ton Van:
Available engines
6 Cylinders W 4.3L SFI
8 Cylinders F 6.5L Turbo Diesel (found in 1% of 1999 Chevrolet Express 3/4 ton Van)
8 Cylinders M 5.0L SFI (found in 25% of 1999 Chevrolet Express 3/4 ton Van)
8 Cylinders R 5.7L SFI (found in 74% of 1999 Chevrolet Express 3/4 ton Van)

it is much faster to install the exact same style of motor as you have... as everything should fit and work..

if still thinking of swapping..    think... engine, transmission, engine controls, radiator, exhaust system, fuel tanks and probably fuel lines,

with enough know how...  and a measuring tape... one with enough skills could install different brand diesel motor in it ...

Is a diesel really worth that much work?
