New Issues?

I'm just wondering if there is any way to know when new issues will become available.  I've had a subscription for years and know that the magazine comes out 9 times per year, skipping June, October, and December.  It seems that sometimes the 9 issues are pretty evenly spaced out and sometimes there are big gaps in between.  I recieved the February 2010 issue on November 11, 2009, but the March issue isn't out yet.  I'm just curious to know if there is a way to find out when new issues will become available each month or is it up in the air until the last minute?

Thanks and keep up the great work!

Absolutely, man, thanks for getting back to me so quickly!  I'm a huge performance auto magazine nut (I collect about 14 different mags) and GMHTP is by far my favorite!

I started collecting GMHTP with the March 2002 issue when my friend in college introduced me to the mag and have been hooked since.  Not long after I started getting them I called the back issue number and ordered a copy of every back issue that was available.  The first one I have is November 1998 (not sure what the first issue was after High Tech Performance) and I believe the only ones I'm missing are March 1999, July 1999, and May 2000.  I've actually even checked ebay for them, but haven't been able to locate copies yet(most people don't exactly treat magazines like collectibles, haha).  I might have mental problems, but we all need one or two to keep things interesting!

WOW!

That's really cool to hear. How do you store all of them?

What are you currently driving?

Nothing wrong with starting your own GMHTP library. May come in handy one day.

I went down to a local comics shop and bought magazine specific boards and bags for them, so I can keep each separate issue in it's own clear plastic with a cardboard backing.  I also bought magazine specific boxes for storage that fit the boarded/bagged magazines.  Not sure how many magazines fit in each box, but they are a good size and my GMHTP collection fits in one (although it's starting to get full).  I'll try to post up a picture of the setup sometime.

mpayne, it definitely comes in handy!  I've gone through the back issues many times for information and tips that I needed while working on my cars.

Currently I drive a 2002 Camaro Z28 and a 2009 G8 GT.

The Camaro is red with leather, t-tops, and a 6 speed.  Mods include the usual bolt-ons, Moser 12-bolt, cam, and a Harris Speed Works nitrous wet kit.  The T56 was rebuilt by me in 2005.  The car made 400 rwhp on motor and has run a best of 11.92 @ 119 mph with a very sub par launch.  On a 100 shot I have run 11.20 @ 124 mph with a 1.62 60'.  My plan for this year was to really practice driving and get the times where they should be, but on my last trip to the track (early December) I blew the Eaton Posi in my Moser.  The car is currently getting a spool and I decided to go for more power while it's down, so it's getting a set of Trickflow heads, 1.8 rockers, injectors, and a fuel pump.  I'm going to have it tuned for a 150 shot, but I'll be afraid to blow the stock bottom end, so I'll probably back it down to a 75-100 shot for normal street use.

My plan is to wait until I get a 10.xx timeslip and then I want to send in pictures and info to the magazine and hope I can get into the Street Heat section.

I bought my G8 last year (late 2008).  I knew I was going to get one as soon as the info about them came out.  I also knew that if I went to the dealership to look, I would end up buying one, so I waited until I was ready to buy and then went down one day and bought it, haha.  I was planning on getting the gray, but after seeing the liquid red in person, it was a no brainer.  The car has every option except for a sunroof and has run a best of 13.52 @ 102.9 mph bone stock.  The car is still all stock, but I definitely have plans for it.  I want to get my Camaro all squared away and then I'll get started on the G8.

Also, my father has a yellow 2004 GTO 6-speed (all stock, 300 rwhp, 13.74 @ 104 mph), one brother has a pewter 2002 Z28 6-speed (very mild heads and cam, 408 rwhp, 11.44 @ 121 mph) and my youngest brother has a quasar blue 1994 Z28 automatic (mild bolt-ons, 13.5 @ 100 mph).

Justin, what do you use to haul yourself to the office and cruises nights?

I got the new issue yesterday in the mail!  Haven't had a chance to read it yet, but I've flipped through it pretty thoroughly and it looks like a great issue.  I love that there are articles with third gens popping up and the Grand National stuff is awesome too.

Keep up the good work, guys!

Just got the new issue.  Once again, great job!  I feel like I'm reading the same magazine I fell in love with year back.  Awesome variety!
