I need help. I have a 2000 z28 camaro with a crate ls1 from texas motor sports. When i bought the car it had 60 pound injectors in it. the injectors were way to big so i put 30 pounds in it. The car hasnt ran since. I tried putting a stock computer in it and checked every wire in the car and it still wont run. The car starts and dies within 2 seconds any suggestions? im thinking about putting a carburator on it. Any with what intake i should use?

holle,
I wouldn't give up on the fuel injection just yet. Was your stock computer tuned for the 60lb injectors? Are you still running a MAF?
Give me a better run down of your combo and we should be able to get you sorted out. It ran with the 60's in it?

The computer was tuned for 60lbs and it ran like a raped ape. when i put the 30lbs in it i got a stock tuned computer in it thinking that might be the problem but it didnt make a diffrence. The maf is factory.

Ok, so you have two computers, one with the 60lb tune in it and one that is stock.
The 2 second thing has me concerned that this may be a VATS (security) issue. In those 2 seconds the car is running, does it run ok? What does the SECURITY light on the dash do?
Sorry for all the questions - it is hard to diagnose problems like this from afar!

I went through all the security wiring and removed the wiring. Originally a security code was coming on but now it doesnt. It kind of rough idles for the 2 seconds. I tried both of the computers and neither worked. It does the same thing.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but just removing the wiring will not do the trick on the anti-theft....the reason the stock pcm will not run the engine is that the anti-theft was active....and now the reason the computer that just recently ran the engine will no longer run the car, is that you have removed the necessary wiring...BOTH pcms are in fuel disable at this point......

is there any of the Vats wiring left sticking out of the terminal block under the dash...
you need to install one of these with quick disconnects... in the car side of the Vats harness.. at radio shack... in the parts drawer...
10K-Ohm 15-Turn Cermet Potentiometer/Trimmer Model: 271-343 | Catalog #: 271-343 $2.69
i use the european style terminal blocks RS also sells.. they have 3 sizes.. the smallest one works..
hook up the first and second pin.. or the second and third pin.. but NOT the first and third pin..
you can then adjust the trimmer to the exact same resistance as the key has... measured with an OHM meter..
there is a 4 minute lock out.. between tries.. the key must be turned off for this...
there are 15 different resistance values possible.. those are posted on the web... be sure to use some tape on the various ECMs you have.. and mark which resistance works with each one...
yes... it might take 2 hours of messing with it to defeat the VATS System... thats the idea..
the stuff you need is under 10 bucks.. and at every radio shack... times is all it takes...
i install this exact part and 2 sections of the european style terminal block about once a month.. works like magic..
