Any word on the outcome of the 408 budget built stroker? I've got an LQ9 block and 823 heads setting in my garage and serious thoughts of starting this project. Were the results of the project less than expected and no further articles to be witten? I posted question in GMHTP's magazine forum comment section but no reply from staff.

Not sure about any other builds but I have a 408 LQ9 making 800/800 with a Whipple 4.0 Liter Blower. The motor was built at TSP with forged and plated internals. I am using ETP 245 heads and a custom grind cam from SNL. We are pushing so much air we recently disintegrated an aftermarket dampener but will soon have a fully cogged belt on it. We got 800 whp at 4500 rpm before the belt let go.

Here are a couple of dyno pulls.

The current July issue has the install and chassis dyno test of the engine. We'll try and get some solid track numbers by the end of the year. The motor went into Werner's red WS6 Trans Am that we previously put the 383 LS1. A Moser M9, SPEC clutch and BMR suspension should help the TA launch on slicks pretty hard.
