I have a 2000 firebird automatic v6. I was wandering what parts besides the engine I would need to change, besides the obvious like ecu, wire harness, ect. was wandering if the trans will bolt right to either an LS1 or LS3 motor? which would be easier? LS1 or LS3 install. Will I need to change crossmember, will the abs components work, exaust system,a/c,or any thing that needs to be taken off a parts car of a trans-am. I subscribe to this magazine and if anyone could give me info I would appreciate it, especially one of the staff members.
Thanks,

You will need the K-member, computer and harness. The bell housing from the v6 will not work on the lsx. You will need a trans out of a v8. You will need all the brackets from the v8 car as well. I'm not 100% sure on the a/c compressor, but I think you'll need at least the compressor. I believe the alternator is different as well. Not sure on the power steering pump and hoses. V8 sensors, and you will need to put the v8 springs in the front...v6 rears are good for drag racing, and not too bad to drive on. You probably won't notice much of a difference anyway, so i wouldn't worry about it. That should get you more than started.

LS1 deffinitely be an easier swap because of theyr availability! or even one of the 6.0 truck motors they make good power.youll need kmember, exhaust, trans, crossmember etc/etc
