most of the timing cover parts from the later 3.8 GM motors will fit.. thats going to be the easiest way..
the later buick turbos came with DIS ignition.. crank sensors... and port fuel injection..
look for T type buicks.. and buick grand nationals.. and GNX..
you might want to search out some of the buick power manuals...
be sure to check back.. i will see if i can find some info for you.. i will work on it during this weekend..
you will find this article very helpful when searching out what fits what on a buick V6...
http://www.enginebuildermag.com/Article/4142/rebuilding_the_38l_buick_engine.aspx
oops.. thats covers the later motors... there is another article that covers the early motors also...
http://www.gmhightechperformance.com/tech/0205gmhtp_buick_turbo_v6_engine_build_overview/index.html
will get back to it by sunday night california time...

Good luck teza. Don't forget to take pics along the way as you go through this one of a kind buildup: also take notes! There will undoubtedly be guys that could benefit from all that you found-- and trying to remember it all afterwards is nearly impossible! ... trust me on that...
'05 GTO: 3600 stall, Comp Cams, L92 heads, etc. etc.
'06 ZX14: lots a mods

no luck on info as yet ,i was gonnna run the turbo 350 but i have a 3.46 irs lsd rear so i am sourcing a us buick 4 speed auto from a 83 v6 turbo, are these boxes cable driven speedo if so i will have to find a vss adapter,if i want to run 600hp relabilty wise do i have to run the ta peerformance nearings for the cam and mains ,i know i need a girlde for the mains, how far can i over bore these engines before it will flex in the bores under high boost , got onto my local engine fab workshop and we decided tomodify my 4 barrel holley intake to injection ounce done i will add pics ,i have a few left ls1 bits which i am thinking of using like injectors and big bore throttlebody,i was bolting in a ls1 but after fiting engine and trans i ddint have the room for a turbo and its only tuned for 400hp at the wheels ao i changed my mind and thats why i am bolting in the v6 more power cheaper regoand most likely beter fuel usage than the ls1, i thought of bolting the six speed up but i have read on a few forums the turbo buicks dont go well with a manual as its to far of boost between gears ,come guys need some info, ned to know how to adapt a crank trigger dissy or crank angle sensor, waht mods do i need to have reliabilty as its all godd to say throw 5 grand at it ,

hi guys thanks for the info, with the timing change info how does this work , as the balancers are different from early to late ,they have different belt setups as the early have the old v belts and the new have the flat belts as i cant put a later model timing cover on to run a crank angle sensor without using a late model balancer as this is notched for the crank sensor to pickup

on the automatic.... you might really .. i know you are a long way from here..
want to contact this shop for the 200R4...
http://www.cpttransmission.com/
there are several specialists on the 200R4.. this is one of them...
there are dozens of magazines on this site...
you might also find some info over at this magazine..
http://www.turbomagazine.com/sch/02/buick/articles/index.html
i have been looking for an article i saw around the web a while back... where somebody cut their timing cover in half... so they could run a crank driven oil pump via the lower half of the cover...
i spotted it on a google search for buick timing covers a month or two ago... i have searched my book marks and have not found the image and links to the full article yet... might be something exactly what you need..
