Cadillac catera engine swap

I bought a 1999 catera sport a few months back as a winter beater and the engine is starting to let go. I only bought the car because it was cheap and the body was in great shape. I was thinking that the car would be a great canidate for and engine swap seeing that the holden comodore and the catera are basically the same car only difference is that the holden had a v8 option. my brother in law owns a salvage yard and i've been eyeing a iron block 5.3 ls and tranny from a rolled truck. i already know i would have to use a f-body accessory drive and intake. what else would i need to make the swap work? Is there a wiring harness that would allow me to use all of my stock gauges or am i going to have to hack and splice to have it all work? any advice helps thanks in advance
