Problems accessing my PCM

I have a 2006 Pontiac Solstice that had a Mallett V8 conversion done to it when it was new. This was a 100% complete 2006 Corvette LS2 with ECM, O2 sensors and Catbacks from Malletts GM over the counter crate package he used for these conversions. Same year VIN and ECM ID. Now that I have done some modifications I need to adjust the MAF & VE. The software I use is HP Tuners and it allows me to read the PCM, but not write to it. I get an Invalid VIN/OS Pair Error cannot license. Now I've been told to take it to a GM dealer so they can use their tech 2 scanner to flash a matching VIN and OS. My builder says it's locked to keep the dealers from changing the custom programing and I would need to start with a fresh PCM. The HP Tuners support says if my software can read it which it did, I should be able to write to it. Totally confused now! Need an experianced ASE Tech to advise me. Any help out there?
Thanks,
hotls2

i would have a word of advice about this....

you have a factory performance  calibrated computer... where the tuning was done on a multimillion dollar dyno with people who live and breath the numbers..........   don't mess with it...

buy another to mess with the tuning on...  .. either reman...  or used.... or brand new...

don't mess up the factory tune on that pcm...  as you cannot go back to the prior tune once overwritten...

this is only my advice...

check the car sales ads...   look for another corvette with the proper motor...    some dealers will post the vin numbers...

there are also TECH 2 scan tools on craigs list once in a while.. along with others that can do flash programming...

there are used units from junk yards and Ebay...  i left the AZ pricing so you don't pay too much...
these are for the 2006 corvette 6.0L motor...
