Hi all,

I wanna know what all do you need to get to put an LSx style engine with either a 4L60E, or a 4L80E into an old car?

I'm talking wiring and PCM/fuel management, not the basics of the install such as headers and brackets.

One more question, could I change the stock exhaust manifolds to headers without having to do a custom burn for the PCM?

Thanks in advance,

Susan.

You will need a stand-alone wiring harness and computer. Painless and Speartech are good leads. Headers alone do not necessarily require a re-tune, but the other components of your combination may. For example, if you are running headers with no cats, you will most certainly need a tune.

There are a couple LSX trans kits from GM that you can purchase from a GM Parts counter. Let me see if I can help you with P/N's.

2.P/N 19257661. 1993-Up 4L80-E. Fits P/N 19154550 Chevrolet Performance SuperMatic.

3.P/N 19212657. Transmission Controller for 4L60-E,4L65-E,4L70-E,4L80-E,and 4L85-E Automatics.

4.P/N 19154766. Transmission adapter kit. Allows installation of Gen.III/IV
4L60-E/4L65-E in the Gen.I and II engines.
